Educational project
Literary School "PoEtics" aims to support young authors and help them to start their career. Every
writer and poet certainly needs feedback from professionals. But sometimes the criticism is so ruthless
that young literary creators simply give up.
The "PoEtics"
Literary School aims to raise the level of literary writing in the fields of poetry, prose and
reportage. The project is unique. There are no others like it in the Commonwealth of Independent States
at present. Of course, one cannot learn to write from scratch if there is no talent given from birth.
But it is possible to help poets and prose writers to master their skills. That is exactly what you will
be doing at our literary school.
Be sure that the
notes from the professional tutors at the "Poetics" Literary School are exceptionally constructive.
Their aim is not to destroy your desire to create, but to unlock your potential.
For whom?
Young people aged 16 and over who write poetry
What will we learn?
– work out what is poetry and what is “thinking in rhyme”;
– understand how not to write;
– master the key principles of poetry;
– improve your basic writing skills (rhyme/tempo/plot/characters/mission of the author/richness of
language/grammar);
– develop your own “writing style”;
– create a representative selection of your work (a poetic portfolio);
– prepare materials for publication in “thick” magazines.
Course format
The course takes 2 months (8 sessions). Classes are held online, once a week on Sundays and last 120
minutes (2 hours), with up to 8 students per group. In addition, course participants take part in weekly
Instagram live streams with the course teachers to present their work, expand their audience and build
their personal brand

Opportunities
– The best authors will be invited to participate in poetry theatre performances as well as solo
concerts and presentations by the school’s tutors;
– Authors will be selected to participate (without qualifying rounds and semi-finals) in the finals of
the Festival “Oseannaya Rus” (Moscow) and OSANNA;
– Publications in thick literary magazines and anthologies: Sovremennik, Nemiga Literaturnaya (Belarus),
Literaturnaya Gazeta (Russia), Annual anthology “Slovoprinoshenie” (with translation into Bulgarian)
(Bulgaria), Poetry Almanac “Voices of Friends” (London);
– Acquaintance with publishers and publishing houses;
– Preparing authors for nomination to international contests, prizes and for the publication of author’s
collections.

Course format
The course takes 2 months (8 sessions). Classes are held online, once a week on Sundays, last 90 minutes
(1.5 hours) and up to 8 students per group. In addition, course participants participate in weekly

What do we learn?

– To Combat fear of public speaking.
Course format?
The course lasts for 2 months (16 sessions). Classes are face-to-face, twice a week (Monday and
Thursday) and take 60 minutes (between 18:00 and 20:00), with a maximum of 8 students per group. In
addition, course participants take part in weekly Instagram live streams with the course tutors to
present their work, expand their audience and build their personal brand

How do I enrol in a course?

after Sergei Yesenin “Oh, Russia, wave your wings” in the category “Debut-2015” with the Order
of Sergei Yesenin;
Author of the poetry collections “Pre…sentiment” (Minsk, 2015), «Speak of the angel”
(Smolensk, 2017), «Poetic Album» (Moscow, 2020), prose collections «Stories. Essays” (Smolensk,
2017), “Lyric Poetry” (Moscow, 2018), two books for pre-school children;
Has publications in poetry almanacs and “thick” magazines in Russia, Belarus, Bulgaria,
Montenegro, Serbia, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina;
Coordinator of the festival movement «Oseannaya Rus» in Belarus, as well as literary projects of

InterviewA.M.: In fact, real poetry is a lifelong effort, and the time is not enough. It’s a
very delicate business, intense. Naked sensuality, thoughts, memories – in pubic.
И.: What for? For glory?
A.M.: From plenty of…!
И.: What is your poetry like? How would you describe it?
A.M.: “Philosophical lyrics” – no. I don’t want to teach and ramble on about the
obvious. “Love lyrics” – no. Every word of poetry is love. Confessional. I’m confessing myself out
loud. That’s the way it is, I guess.
Artemiy Leontiev

From an interview with Artemy Leontiev:
«I’ve never made a decision to become a writer – I think in the context of any kind of mature
creative wanderings there can be no conscious decision-making, at least in my case consciousness is
completely excluded… For me writing is an inevitability based on your own genetic programme, on
some kind of specific structure of your thinking; either a special set of DNA cells, or a kind of
pathological personality disorder. And the whole subsequent creative journey of an author is, in a
sense, his medical record.»
